Here’s Why People Are Moving To Tampa In Droves
Yeah, Tampa was hit hard by the Great Recession, but in the last several years, our beautiful city has bounced back. More than that, we are now listed as the 13th best place to live in the country. Read more about why Tampa is one of the best places to live in the complimentary post from earlier. We are actually one of the fastest growing cities in the country, because it’s so great to live here. So, what changed since the Great Recession hit Tampa?
Water Street Tampa played a huge role in revitalizing this city. It’s helped turn its focus area into a vibrant and diverse area that millennials are attracted to. Millennials are the largest group of home buyers right now, so the redevelopment has greatly helped this. Water Street Tampa is a multi-billion dollar, multi-use development project. It connects the downtown Tampa waterfront area to the downtown. The developers were smart when planning, taking into consideration the desires of millennials to have a walkable community, rooftop gardens, fitness centers, and plenty of activities.
The Riverwalk project that was completed in 2015 was a huge amenity for the city. It’s absolutely gorgeous. It connects cultural centers and art venues with public parks and restaurants. It’s a 2.5-mile path along the river.
Sparkman Wharf is a very desirable amenity for the younger adults. It is a waterfront entertainment venue. It has a beer garden. It has small eateries with some of the best chefs in Tampa. It’s an open air venue that includes everything you need for a great night out.
Also it’s not hard to find an affordable place to live in the city. Actually, the cost of living is over eight-percent lower than the national average, even though the amenities here are so vast. Recently, Tampa was named the second best place for first-time home buyers!
