If you’ve listed your home and accepted an offer, you’re legally bound to sell the property to that buyer (barring any unforeseen circumstances, like the buyer being unable to obtain financing). However, if you haven’t yet signed a contract with the buyer, you may be able to back out of the sale without any legal ramifications.

It’s important to note that if you do accept an offer and then back out of the sale, you may have to return the buyer’s earnest money deposit. You may also be required to pay your real estate agent, as they may have already put in a significant amount of work on your behalf.
