    Question #1 to Ask a Real Estate Agent: What Kind of Experience Do You Have?

    You want to work with an experienced agent who knows the ins and outs of the real estate market. After all, selling a home is a complex process, and you need someone who can help you navigate it successfully. When you’re interviewing agents, be sure to ask about their experience level. How long have they been working in the industry? Do they have any specialized experience or training?

    The more experience an agent has, the better equipped they’ll be to handle the sale of your home.

    The number of homes an agent sells in a year is a good indicator of their experience level and success rate. When you’re interviewing agents, ask about the number of homes they sold last year.

    An experienced agent should have no problem providing you with this information. If an agent only sold a few homes last year, it may indicate that they’re not doing real estate as a full-time job – and while that’s okay, it may be a sign that they have other priorities.
