Florida Hospital To Add Freestanding ER In Brandon
Florida Hospital will have a freestanding Emergency Room in Brandon. If all goes according to plan, the 19,400 square foot ER will have 24 beds available and open before 2020. The ER will be located at the corner of State Road 40 and Margaret Street on the southwest corner of that intersection. The plans involved demolishing the existing 14,000-square-foot Florida Orthopaedic Institute building.
If needed, patients would be able to be transported 30 minutes to the Florida Hospital Tampa campus. ER patients needing longer care of more surgeries would just be transferred there.
Florida Hospital already opened freestanding ERs in Wesley Chapel, Palm Harbor, and Central Pasco.
