About Belleair Shores

Belleair Shore, often referred to in the plural as Belleair Shores, is a small town on the gulf coast of Florida in Pinellas County. Belleair Shores is relatively new; it was founded in 1955. The residential area of Belleair Shores is comprised completely of single-family homes, and its population is just over 100 residents.

Belleair Shores is four miles south of Clearwater Beach, and a mile west of Belleair Bluffs. It is sandwiched between the Gulf of Mexico and Gulf Boulevard. The entire zone is on a narrow strip of land that nestles between the Gulf and the inlet of Clearwater Harbor. The nearest major urban areas are the cities of St. Petersburg and Tampa.

The city of Belleair Beach is on the opposite side of Belleair Shores along Gulf Boulevard, and also forms the northern border of Belleair Shores. Indian Rocks Beach borders Belleair shores to the south.

Because there are no commercial buildings on Belleair Shores, residents of Belleair Shores depend on the surrounding areas for all amenities. Shops and other retail outlets are found east of Gulf Boulevard.
Because of its small size, it can be difficult to find Belleair Shores homes for sale. However, many Realtors® will offer properties in immediately adjoining districts when people are looking for Belleair Shores homes.

A key feature of Belleair Shores is that every home enjoys an unobstructed view to the west. The beach is private to residents. To preserve the integrity of the view, zoning regulations established in law strictly regulate the height of any building work. The building of commercial properties, high-rise structures and multi-occupancy homes is completely prohibited.

The exclusivity of Belleair Shores means that property prices are in the millions. Prospective buyers can expect to pay at least $2.5 million for a three-bedroom home in the area. Larger properties may cost several million.
