Time to make: > 1 hour
Ingredients: 4
Servings: 39 Black Widow Spider Cookies
Ingredients:
- 39 original Oreo Cookies (you can also use the halloween ones if you want the body to look a little creepy)
- Bag of Pretzel Sticks
- Red Frosting
- Candy Eyes
Directions:
- Take an Oreo cookie and place 3 pretzel sticks into each side fanning them out like legs. You can break the pretzel sticks in alf to make shorter legs if you want.
- Pipe a tiny dab of the red frosting on the back of each Candy Eye and stick onto the top of the Oreo cookie toward the front of the body
- Pipe a black widow symbol on the back of the spider body. It’s just two triangles with the tips pointing in and touching.
That’s it – SO easy! Let them set for 15 minutes so the eye’s don’t fall out & the Black Widow symbol dries.
Variations: Pipe two dots of White Frosting for the eyes and pipe a tiny dot of red frosting on each eye for the pupil. Cut the top off of 2 pieces of Candy Corn and stick into the center of the filling pointing down in front of the eyes to make fangs. Use Twizzlers Pull-n-Peel and cut into lengths for the legs instead of pretzels. Use plain M&M’s for the eyes.
Frankenstein Rice Krispie Treats
In Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein, Victor created his monster from old body parts, some creative alchemy and animated him with a mysterious spark. Thankfully this recipe isn’t nearly so difficult or mysterious. There are literally THOUSANDS of fun Halloween Rice Krispie Treats out there from Mummys, to Eyeballs to Pumpkins – but we liked the Frankenstein version best! Plus there are only 6 ingredients in it!
Time to make: > 1 hour
Ingredients: 6
Servings: 30 Frankenstein Rice Krispie Treats
Ingredients:
- 6 Cups of Rice Krispies Cereal
- 6 Tablespoons Butter
- 6 Cups Mini Marshmallows
- Green Food Coloring
- Candy Eyes (multiple sizes)
- Black Icing
Directions:
- Slice the butter up into chunks and place on top of the marshmallows in a microwave-safe bowl. According to the Original Rice Krispies recipe cook on HIGH for 3 minutes stopping at the 2 minute mark to stir. Place back in the microwave for the last minute then stir until you get a smooth consistency with no lumps. You may have to cook for another minute to get it to be the right consistency. Repeat as needed until mixture is smooth & creamy. Cooking times will vary depending on your microwave wattage.
- Add your green food coloring to the marshmallow cream mixture a few drops at a time mixing in-between until you get a light to medium green color. *You MAY want to divide the mixture up into two bowls at this point to make it easier to combine with the Rice Krispies.
- Butter a spatula before beginning this step to make it easier to help avoid sticking. Pour the Rice Krispies into the Marshmallow cream and slowly fold them together with the buttered spatula. Continue mixing together until completely combined. *Reserve a TINY bit of the marshmallow cream mixture to help stick the Candy Eyes to the squares in step 6.
- Prep a 2-inch cookie sheet by coating with cooking spray and have some wax paper handy. Using the spatula, scoop out the entire mixture onto the cookie sheet and using the wax paper press it evenly into the pan and let cool.
- Cut into 2 x 4-inch rectangles. If you have leftovers then combine the extra & roll it in your hands to warm it back up then press it back into the pan and continue cutting into squares.
- Use a toothpick to pick up a tiny bit of the reserved marshmallow cream and dot the back of two Candy Eyes then press into each square near the top leaving room for the hair.
- Pipe Black Icing at the top for the hair, add a scar with stitches on the cheek and a mouth. You can even make each Frankenstein a little different if you want and change up the mouth so he is smiling or frowning or move the scar to a different position or even giving him spikes hair or wavy hair.
Easy Peezy Lemon Squeeze! This easy Halloween recipe shouldn’t take longer than 30-45 minutes and will wow your guests!
Variations: If you are REALLY in a time crunch you can even skip making the Rice Krispie Treats yourself and buy some pre-packaged ones and paint the top with green frosting then add the Candy Eyes and pipe on the black frosting!
Halloween Cookie Pizza
Everyone loves Pizza, but what about the sweeter version? We found many Halloween Cookie Pizza recipe ideas and combined them below to give you several options! This recipe is fast and simple and will have your party guests drooling.
Time to make: < 1 hour
Ingredients: 4
Servings: 1 Cookie Pizza
Ingredients:
- 1 large roll of Sugar Cookie Dough
- 2 12oz containers of White Frosting
- 1 Standard box of food coloring (you will be making lime green, purple & orange frosting)
- Halloween Candy of your choice (Reeces pieces, M&M’s, Candy Corn, Sprinkles)
Directions:
- Pre-heat the oven according to the Sugar Cookie Dough instructions
- Line a round cookie sheet (pizza pan) with parchment paper
- Break the sugar cookie dough in half then using wax paper, press it into the pan evenly and cook according to the package instructions or until it is golden brown. Let cool.
- While the cookie is baking, divide one 12oz container of white frosting into two bowls. Using red & yellow food coloring mix equal parts red & yellow to make the orange frosting in one bowl. For example use 10 drops of red and 10 drops of yellow. Add more drops equally until you get an orange color you like. To make purple frosting mix 15 drops of blue and 80 drops of red in the other bowl. You can cut the number of drops in half if that seems like too much and then add the other half if the resulting purple is not bright enough. Scoop both mixtures into Piping bags and set aside.
- Take the remaining 12oz container of frosting and scoop it out into a bowl. Add 9 drops of blue food coloring and 29 drops of yellow food coloring and mix to get a lime green color. Adjust by adding more drops if needed.
- Frost the entire top of the cookie evenly with the lime green frosting.
- Sprinkle the candy around the entire top of the cookie. You can use as much or as little as you want.
- Pipe the Purple frosting onto the cookie in horizontal lines then turn the cookie 90 degrees and pipe the Orange frosting in the opposite direction to make a cool criss cross design. Feel free to get creative and change it up if you want to. You could make a spiders web with the orange frosting and then use the purple frosting to make spiders.
